We seek an organized and talented communications professional with a passion for producing content for print and online platforms, including social media and email campaigns, experience maintaining websites, and an ability to effectively work with diverse groups of stakeholders to deliver on key communications objectives across project types.
About This Role
This Communications Coordinator role is responsible for the planning and implementation of communications plans for activities of the SCA’s Advocacy Center, the Coffee Roasters Guild, and SCA Chapters. The position reports to the Director of Communications to support the strategic goals of the SCA and to convey the SCA's mission to diverse constituencies.
Effectively communicate the activities of the SCA’s Advocacy Center, including the Leadership Equity and Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship Program, and the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Task Force.
Support staff and volunteer leaders of the Coffee Roasters Guild (CRG) in achieving key communications objectives related to their mission as well as projects including CRG Camp, CRG Retreat, Sensory Summit, and Origin Trips.
Produce online content to feature the activities of SCA Chapters around the globe, including national competitions and other community events hosted by volunteer leaders.
Collaborate with event marketing staff and SCA Chapters on promotions for World of Coffee, the SCA’s annual European trade show.
Support other community-focused activities at the SCA, as needed, in collaboration with the SCA’s marketing and communications team.
Excellent verbal and written skills, including a strong working knowledge of grammatical principles and application.
Strong editing and copywriting skills.
The ability to communicate on social platforms in a consistent, on-brand voice that follows company policy and procedures.
1-2 years of experience managing business social media accounts, email marketing, and copywriting.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Motivated professional with interest and knowledge of the specialty coffee industry.
Advanced proficiency using MS Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite software, social media channels, website development platforms, and email marketing tools.
