About You 

As a crucial member of the team, the Education Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting and growing educational programs in the United States and Latin American markets for the purpose of increasing engagement within their coffee communities, including the SCA Coffee Skills Program, Premier Training Campus program and Authorized Trainer Program. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan through comprehensive data analysis for increasing community engagement with SCA education programs in the United States and Latin America markets. Specifically, this plan would

  • Identify areas where education programs can be expanded or are under-represented, geographically

  • Identify ways to foster growth in established markets, and

  • Identify potential high-volume users of the SCA education programs

  • Cultivate relationships with potential Campuses and ASTs for the purpose of promoting the value of the SCA education programs and assist them through the process of becoming ASTs or Campuses

  • Develop relationships with potential corporate partners for the purpose of promoting the value of the SCA education programs as a sole training tool or a training tool to supplement current ones in use

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current Campuses, ASTs, and Corporate partners so they remain active members of the program and maintain certification as Campuses and ASTs.

  • Work closely with Education staff to help navigate the path toward certification as an AST and or Campus.

  • Work closely with Education staff to explain learner options within the SCA education program.

  • Partner with marketing, sponsorship and other relevant departments to develop a communication plan to increase engagement with the SCA education program

  • Attend relevant SCA and non-SCA events to increase visibility of SCA educational programs in the US and Latin American markets

  • Collaborate with SCA Education staff on new initiatives and ideas that pertain to campus and AST involvement and growth opportunities

  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or develop and are subject to amendment at any time based on association and departmental needs.


  • Proven sales experience

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills

  • Extreme self-starter, problem solver and independent thinker

  • Motivated professional with interest and knowledge of the specialty coffee industry

  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize

  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Experience in the coffee, beverage or foodservice industries a plus

  • Experience with Salesforce ideal

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or related field is preferred

  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly desired
