How are your benefits changing under the unified organization?

We wanted to inform you about some exciting changes to your heritage SCAA or SCAE membership package.

As you know, all members of either association as of 31 December 2016 are eligible to renew their 2017 membership at last year’s rates (unless 2017’s price is less for your category) provided payment is received within 30 days of expiry. The reason for this decision is first and foremost to recognize your value and support in developing the specialty coffee community and building the two associations over the years.

We will be working over the course of the next 12-24 months to continue building and improving the level of service and experience you receive from being part of the Specialty Coffee Association. A major part of this exercise is aligning what our heritage SCAA and SCAE members previously received so that we can create a consistent platform to work from.

With this in mind, we would like to focus on how some of this re-alignment will affect your membership. Our intent is to continue adding value to your membership, however we acknowledge that this cannot be true for individual benefits and implies instead to your member benefits as a whole. Please do not hesitate to contact our Member Services team at membership@sca.coffee should you have any questions or feedback.

Member Plaque – UPDATED

We’re in the process of creating a new Member Plaque for any members looking to update their heritage SCAE plaques. In an effort to be more sustainable you will need to order your new plaque separately, as we will no longer be issuing plaques as standard. This is due to the amount of waste they create when not wanted. Where possible, the plaques will be produced from sustainably sourced or recycled materials. Additionally, you can request a 2017 wooden insert for your SCAE plaque by writing to membership@sca.coffee
