Now Accepting Applications for the WCC Competitions Strategic Committee
The Specialty Coffee Association is now accepting applications for the World Coffee Championships Competitions Strategic Committee (CSC), with positions available on the overall CSC strategy group along with the competition-specific rules & regulations sub-committees.
The CSC is a volunteer leadership group with wide-ranging experience of competitions and the industry, that collaborates on initiatives to foster & support the competition community and keep the World Coffee Championships moving forward. The group is intentionally composed of a wide cross-section of experiences, geographies, and backgrounds amongst specialty coffee.
Purpose:
To create and uphold the strategic goals via the WCC and its supporting structures & programs. The CSC may also arbitrate Competition Body (CB) disputes, when escalated beyond the WCC Representative and existing SCA support mechanisms. The group should also provide feedback on competition-related considerations.
Vision:
To celebrate the craft of coffee by inspiring, engaging, and fostering communities worldwide. We provide a platform for recognition, innovation, and growth through events that are accessible and relevant.
Mission:
WCC inspires the coffee community, and all coffee professions along value chain, through compelling championships and support. World competition is supported by a sustainable network of Competition Bodies, Judges, Reps, and Volunteers. WCE competitions recognize professional excellence, work towards accessibility for all, and highlights the team effort it takes to create and serve specialty coffee.
Scope of Work:
A 2-year commitment to support the evolution of the WCC, support R&R plans with strategic direction, and input, and arbitrate select CB issues. Participants must attend 2 meetings/month and an full-day meeting (either in-person/remote) in September (dates TBD).
Applications are open until January 8, 2023, with successful applicants informed in mid to late January. Apply at the link below, and learn more about the Competitions Strategic Committee's work here.
