Meet the board
The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Board of Directors brings together experienced leaders from across the global coffee community, guiding the organization’s strategy, governance, and long term priorities.

PRESIDENT
Andrew Tolley
Andrew has worked as a barista, trainer, cafe manager, multi-site cafe owner, green buyer, and head of coffee. He was a co-founder of 2 of London's early specialty cafe businesses - Taylor St Baristas and Harris+Hoole, with 55+ sites between them at their height.

VICE PRESIDENT
Nadine Rasch
Nadine Rasch born and raised in Guatemala, she spent much of her childhood on her family’s coffee farm. After studying & working in finance in the UK, she started working in coffee in 2012.

2ND VICE PRESIDENT
Jiyoon Han
Jiyoon Han is co-owner of Bean & Bean Coffee in NYC, an omnichannel coffee business with retail cafes, ecommerce, subscriptions, and a wholesale program. Jiyoon is a Licensed Q Arabica Grader and has served on the international jury for Cup of Excellence in Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, Hawaii, and Honduras.

Cosimo Libardo
Cosimo throughout his career has improved market positioning of various coffee and equipment brands, providing clear strategic direction, while solidifying and growing their business.

DIRECTOR
Emi-Beth Aku Quantson
Emi-Beth Aku Quantson, Founder and Chief Caffeination Officer of Kawa Moka, is redefining Africa’s coffee story by creating value at every stage of the supply chain. Through Kawa Moka, she sources premium Robusta coffee from rural Ghanaian farmers—primarily women—roasts it locally, and empowers communities across the value chain.

Jon Allen
Jon Allen is the founder of Onyx Coffee Lab and 2nd Street Creative Studio. He has wide range of experience across multiple facets of the Specialty Coffee and hospitality sector, and a background in international travel for green coffee purchasing as well as extensive experience as a creative director in charge of branding direction.

Federico Gallia
Federico Gallia was born in Milan in 1980, a city known for its vibrant fashion scene, rich history, and as the financial capital of Italy. Growing up in this dynamic environment, Federico was inspired by the city’s spirit of innovation and its strong ties to business and culture.

Hide Izaki
In 2014, he became the first Asian to win the World Barista Championship. As a coffee business consultant, he has worked with major F&B chains, including Luckin Coffee in China, SPC Group in Korea, and McDonald’s Japan, providing end-to-end consulting from product development to marketing.

DIRECTOR
Sunalini Menon
Has grown up in coffee since her post graduation in Food Technology from the Univ. of Madras, India in 1972. She has spent more than 50 yrs in coffee( arena of quality) and has worked as a quality evaluator, trainer, coffee blender, developer of green coffee brands for the farmer, judge in coffee competitions, writer of coffee articles, coffee guide to new coffee entrepreneurs.

Luiz Saldanha Rodrigues
Luiz Roberto Saldanha Rodrigues is the owner of Fazenda Califórnia and co-founder and Director of Capricornio Coffees and Synapses Coffee Education. A leading coffee professional in Brazil, Luiz is an agronomic engineer with an MBA in Production Management.

Rob Stephen
Rob Stephen is the Managing Director for Covoya Specialty Coffee in Providence, Rhode Island. Since entering the Specialty industry over 35 years ago, he’s worked at several nationally known coffee companies, and has had the opportunity to work in retail, roasting, quality, international development and coffee trading.

Daryanto Witarsa
Daryanto Witarsa is a coffee entrepreneur, mentor, and industry leader dedicated to advancing specialty coffee in Indonesia and beyond.

Jessica Worden
As a licensed Q-grader, Authorized SCA Trainer (AST), I bring over 15 years of commercial and operational experience in the specialty coffee industry. I lead coffee strategy as the Head of Coffee at GAIL's Bakery, a food-led business committed to scaling quality.

Yi-ling Wu
Yi-ling Wu, Manager of Beverage Research Institute at King Car Food Industrial Company and Vice Chairman of Taiwan Coffee Association Yi-Ling was born in Taiwan. She is an optimistic, adventurous person who likes to travel and communicate with people.

Governance and election
The board consists of 15 volunteer members elected by the SCA membership, serving three-year terms. It works in partnership with the CEO and SCA staff, in line with SCA’s bylaws.
Each year, a portion of the seats open for nomination and election.
