Announcing the Coffee Value Summit in Shenzhen, China

Following the adoption of three Coffee Value Assessment components parts of the Specialty Coffee Association’s official cupping standards, this new event will offer a chance to engage experts and fellow leaders on the topic of coffee value.

Over three days starting from Thursday, December 12th HOTELEX will host the first Coffee Value Summit in China at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The first day will be an opportunity to connect with industry leaders on the topic of value in coffee, and the latter two days will offer a chance to discover the Coffee Value Assessment in full with the SCA's CVA for Cuppers Course, taught by expert trainers.

The Specialty Coffee Association’s Coffee Value Assessment acts as a value discovery tool, creating a transparent record of a coffee’s valued attributes. Across four assessment types, completed separately to avoid bias, assessors are asked to consider various valuable attributes of a coffee including physical, sensory, and informational attributes.

The CVA for Cuppers Course is a two-day professional update for coffee cuppers, during which they will learn and become familiarized with the Coffee Value Assessment through a series of lectures, discussions and hands-on activities, including several cuppings.

The Coffee Value Summit will offer a chance to engage more broadly on the topic of value, prior to the beginning of the CVA for Cuppers Course, with experts and industry leaders.

Those who are interested in attending can register with the host here.
