Peruvian coffee is a product of tradition and passion. Grown in some of the most stunning landscapes on earth, it carries the essence of Peru’s diverse geography and the dedication of generations of small-scale farmers who take pride in their craft.
With its rich flavors, high-altitude cultivation, and dedication to eco-friendly production, Peruvian coffee has gained recognition worldwide. Known for producing 100% arabica coffee, a species prized for its more complex aromas and flavors compared to robusta, Peru stands out as a top coffee producer.
Peru’s coffee production benefits from its rich natural environment. The country has 39 unique ecosystems and 28 of the world’s 32 climates. This extraordinary diversity, found in coffee regions such as Cusco, Cajamarca, Junin, or San Martin, allows Peruvian coffee to develop distinctive flavors that are difficult to replicate, with a wide range of taste notes, including floral, fruity, chocolatey, and nutty undertones. Each cup of Peruvian coffee tells the story of its origin.
Peru establishes itself as a leader in the specialty coffee industry worldwide.
Peru, through its export and tourism promotion agency, PROMPERU, is implementing a strategy to position itself as one of the world’s leading producers and suppliers of specialty coffee. Recognized for its exceptional quality, Peruvian coffee continues to gain prominence on the global stage.

Origin from Peru
Peru is home to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most iconic heritage sites, symbolizing its rich history and culture. In the same region, near this world-famous wonder, grows one of the best coffees in the world. The high-altitude conditions and fertile soil of Cusco’s La Convención province create the perfect environment for cultivating premium coffee beans, known for their exceptional flavor and aroma. Just as Machu Picchu stands as a testament to Peru’s ancient civilizations, Peruvian coffee represents the dedication and expertise of generations of farmers who have mastered the art of coffee cultivation.
The country has a Designation of Origin for coffee, recognizing its high quality and distinctiveness in global markets. This designation highlights the superior standards and authenticity that Peruvian coffee embodies.
Whether you are looking for a smooth, fruity cup from Cajamarca, a bold and chocolatey blend from Cusco, or an organic and sustainable option from Junín, Peruvian coffee has something for everyone. It is a product of nature, tradition, and innovation—ready to be enjoyed by the world.
Committed to Sustainability
Peru is also a leader in sustainable coffee production. The country has one of the highest percentages of organic coffee production in the world. This means that much of Peru’s coffee is grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, protecting both the environment and the health of farmers and consumers. By choosing Peruvian coffee, consumers support ethical and sustainable farming. They also contribute to a system that values fair wages, transparent trade, and long-term environmental preservation.
One example is Chacra D’dago, a family-owned coffee company founded in 2008 in Junín, central region of Peru. This company is a pioneer in biodynamic agriculture and holds both B Corp and Demeter certifications, proving its commitment to the environment and social responsibility.
Chacra D’dago’s sustainability model includes innovative practices such as restoring soil fertility with compost, managing coffee wastewater to reduce pollution and improve efficiency, reintroducing native tree species to support biodiversity, and using renewable energy for a lower environmental impact.
Their dedication to sustainability has earned them a nomination as a finalist in the 2025 Specialty Coffee Association Sustainability Awards, further solidifying their role as leaders in responsible coffee production. Through these initiatives, Chacra D’dago proves that coffee production can be both profitable and environmentally responsible. This model serves as an inspiration for other coffee producers worldwide.
With its unique flavors, sustainable practices, and global recognition, Peruvian coffee is an entire experience and continues to captivate coffee lovers around the world. By choosing Peruvian coffee, consumers are enjoying a delicious drink and at the same time they are supporting a sustainable future, a rich heritage, and a country that is proud to offer some of the best coffees in the world.
