Bidding Now Open for World Barista Championship Qualified Sponsorships and World Brewers Cup Filter Grinder Position for 2026–2029 Cycle

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is pleased to announce that manufacturers can now register their interest in Qualified Sponsorship for the World Barista Championship (WBC) and for the first time, the World Brewers Cup (WBrC). Open categories include the Qualified Filter Grinder position for the 2026-2029 World Brewers Cup, and Qualified Water Filtration, Espresso Grinder and Espresso Machine Positions for the 2026-2029 World Barista Championship. Bidding will remain open until July 4, 2025.

As the World Brewers Cup continues to grow in prestige, showcasing the art and skill of manual brewing on a global stage, this marks a significant opportunity for equipment manufacturers to be part of an increasingly influential competition. Meanwhile, the World Barista Championship remains the premier platform for innovation in barista skills, setting the standard for excellence in espresso preparation and service. Eligible manufacturers can register interest by filling out the form below.

Grinders and Water Filtration:

The Qualified Grinder and Water Filtration positions are key equipment positions that support the World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup and allow competitors to flourish on stage. Global grinder manufacturers offering equipment with adjustable grind and dose settings suitable for espresso brewing (WBC) or filter brewing (WBrC) are invited to apply for sponsorship opportunities. Interested Water Filtration equipment manufacturers can reference the World Coffee Championship (WCC) water specifications.

Espresso Machines:

Espresso Machine testing is based on the SCA Competition Machine Testing Specifications. Since the inception of the World Barista Championship in 2004, these standards have driven manufacturers to enhance equipment functionality and quality as the specialty coffee industry evolves. Qualified Testing for espresso machines closed in early April. Machines that have passed the SCA Competition Machine Testing Specifications are now eligible to bid for WBC sponsorship and may also apply for the SCA Certified Espresso Machine Program.
