We may live in the age of the replica, but we’ve never been so preoccupied with authenticity – especially when it comes to what we eat and drink. Noa Berger (department of Sociology, EHESS) explores some of the different ways authenticity is constructed in coffee, and shows that "authentic" can mean anything - and nothing.
