Attention members of the Coffee Roasters Guild around the globe,

🎉 It’s official! The 2020 Coffee Roasters Guild slate selection process has come to an end. CRG members around the globe have confirmed the slate of five professionals presented on November 5 by the CRG Election Committee, chaired by Past Chair Sonja Björk Grant.

Please help us welcome the newest members of the CRG Leadership Council:

  • Baylee Engberg, Head Roaster at Trailhead Coffee Roasters

  • Elena Lokteva, Colombia Buyer at Ally Coffee

  • Emi-Beth Aku Quantson, CEO/Founder of Kawa Moka Coffee Company

  • Jorge Sotomayor, Co-owner at Café Estelar and palReal

  • Freda Yuan, Head of Coffee at Origin Coffee Roasters

As communicated to CRG members on November 24, the CRG Leadership Council election was uncontested this year— with an equal number of candidates and open seats— so there was no need to proceed with the usual voting process. Members were asked to confirm or reject the slate and provide comments by December 7. 93.8% of members who responded voted to confirm the slate.

The CRG Leadership Council consists of 12 volunteer members who serve a 2-year term, supported by the SCA staff. Baylee, Elena, Emi-Beth, Jorge, and Freda will serve a two-year term from February 2021 to January 2023. Please scroll down to learn more about each of them.
