About the Panel

Bridget Carrington, International Coffee Consultant

Bridget Carrington spent most of her career working in East Africa, where she was MD of C Dorman Ltd, a Nairobi based East African exporter and roaster, where her role centred around running the coffee sourcing, selling and exporting operations. As the specialty sector developed, Dormans became more involved in top quality, sustainability and traceability. During this time Bridget recognised the need to build farmer capacity, and to build relationships with the producers, bringing sellers and buyers together to mutual benefit.

Since leaving Dormans, Bridget has been using her knowledge and expertise to help producers become more informed and better equipped to transact business more successfully and more directly, and most importantly with more financial benefit

Emilio Lopez Diaz, Finca El Manzano

Emilio Lopez is a seventh generation coffee farmer from El Salvador whose family business is vertically integrated from seed to cup - including farming, green coffee exporting, roasting for domestic consumption, and roasting coffee in the United States. He is an El Salvador Cup of Excellence winner and in 2021 will sell upwards of 40 containers of coffee to more than 40 destinations worldwide.

Eva Muthuuri, Eva's Coffee

Eva's professional background is in development world, which led to her interest in improving sustainability in agribusiness. From small beginnings in 2016 - using 'suitcase' salesmen and women to bring coffee from Kenya to Europe, selling gift packs for representatives of Kenyan institutions to take on overseas trips, and giving coffee to visitors to Kenya - she has built up her coffee brand, Eva's Coffee, championing women's coffee from the her home county of Meru.

Stean Fasol, Stean’s Beans

Stean's interest in coffee and Rwanda developed during his university studies, and he has since developed a fully fledged roasting business in Amsterdam. He regularly travels to Rwanda to build relationships with producers and to help build capacity and producer equity along the coffee value chain.
