SCA Portugal Chapter: Election Results
Thank you for voting in the SCA Portugal Chapter election!
Following the nomination period, there were six open coordinator roles for the SCA Portugal Chapter, some of which were uncontested. As such, there was no need to proceed with a vote for these roles.
SCA Portugal members voted for the role of Education Coordinator. The breakdown of the votes was as follows:
Diogo Amorim – 77.78%
Miguel Menezes – 22.22%

National Coordinator
Works in the Portuguese Roasters Associations for the last 12 years. Responsible for the organization of all the Baristas Portuguese Championship. Coffee Lover.
David Alexandre Batalha Coelho
Community Coordinator
David Coelho é o Torrador Principal e responsável por toda a área de café da 7g Roaster. Apaixonado por café desde sempre, iniciou em 2011 a sua viagem por este mundo, tornando-se mais tarde no Tri-campeão Nacional Barista. Hoje em dia estando responsável por áreas importantes como o soarcing de café verde, torra indo até ao treinamento barista, sinto que é tempo de aproximar mais entre si a comunidade do Café de Especialidade.
Diogo Amorim
Education Coordinator
Diogo is the founder and head roaster at Senzu Coffee Roasters, and an AST at abcoffee school. He holds a Master’s Degree in Coffee Economics and Science from Trieste University where he is an assistant professor in the Roasting module. He is also a Q Arabica and a Q Robusta Grader. He is a Trainer for SCA courses in Roasting, Green Coffee and Sensory Skills.

Hugo Ferraz
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
I'm co-founder and head barista of Chá das Cinco, a bakery with speciality coffee. I'm co-owner of abcoffee, a premier training campus school in Porto. I'm a trainer in the SCA Barista and Brewing courses. I got 3rd place in the 2019 National Barista Championship.
Marco Miranda
Judges Coordinator
Portuguese by birth and coffee expert by profession and passion, I have 21 years of experience, knowledge and skills gained in the coffee industry. Joined in Spring 2015 Mocoffee Ltd as Innovation and Operations Director and Worked last as Innovations Manager for Delta Cafés/Grupo Nabeiro, who is the market leader in Portugal. Over the past decade Marco was involved in the continuous growth of the specialty coffee and capsule business in local and international markets, from coffee roasting to coffee & tea capsules including in-house industrial design of home-use capsule machines and related technology. Marco graduated as a Agro-Industrial Engineer in 2000 from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), School of Agriculture of Technical University of Lisbon. Subsequently, he obtained a Master in Business and Engineering (MBE) at the Higher School of Biotechnology of the Universidade Católica do Porto and a Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Universidade de Evora.
