Meet the 2020 SCA Turkey Chapter Coordinators

Asli Yaman

Elected as National Coordinator

Kahve kariyerime hayallerimin peşinden giderek yaklaşık 15 yıl önce başladım. Rusya’da Soyuz Coffee Roasting’de Üretim Müdürü olarak 5 sene çalıştım. 2014 yılında İtalya’da düzenlenen Dünya Kahve Demleme Şampiyonası’nda 3. olarak Türkiye adına kazanılan en iyi dereceyi aldım. SCA’da Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi olarak yer alıyorum ve Kahve Becerileri Programındaki tüm modüller için eğitim verme yetkisine sahibim.

Q Arabica Grader sertifikasına sahibim ve Birleşmiş Milletler ile Afrika’da kahve üreticilerine SCA eğitimleri vermeye devam ediyorum. 2016 yılı itibari ile de Kimma Coffee Roasters markasının kurucuları arasında yer aldım. Bugüne kadar içerisinde yer aldığım tüm çalışmalarda iyi bir kahve elçisi olabilmek için kahvenin hem sosyal hem de ticari değerlerini korumak adına Türkiye’de ve dünyada farklı alanlardaki projelerde bulunmak muazzam. Artık tüm deneyimlerimi SCA Türkiye çatısı altında yeni bir sayfa açarak güzel ve güçlü bir ekip ile devam ettirmek istiyorum.

Kaan Yaren

Elected as Community Coordinator

Educated as an engineer, I've been in the coffee community since 2014, coaching baristas in different competitions in backstage, including 3 World Barista Championships. I’ve also competed once in National Cup Tasters Championship on one occasion. I've also created Brewcoat, an innovative coffee tool used around the world.

Ashkan Faraji

35 years old, Iran’s first coffee diploma 2015, CSP All 6 modules Trainer, National Judge, WCEP cert. holder, Freelancer instructor and hardware engineer.

Ayşen Üçcan Keskinkılıç

Elected as Events Coordinator

Kahve yolculuğum, İstanbul ve Ankara Coffee Festival ile 2014-19 yılları arası kurumsal olarak devam etti. Bodrum Coffee Festival, SCA’20 Türkiye Şampiyonası organizasyonlarını hayata geçirdikten sonra, Şubat’20 de gerçekleştirilen Coffex İstanbul bünyesinde kahve kavurucularının ticari anlamda daha geniş kitlelere ulaşmalarını sağlayacak “The Roaster Community” oluşumunu kurdum. Sanat ile ilgili bir üniversiteden mezun olmama rağmen 1989dan bu yana pazarlama sektörü ve bu yönde gerçekleştirilen organizasyonlar konusunda ekip çalışmasına inanan bir kişiyim. Outdoor, otomotiv ve banka sektörlerinden sonra “Kahve” sevdiğim, öğrenmekten ve kendi alanımda yol gösterici olmaktan keyif aldığım bir sektör. SCA ile bu yolculuğa devam etmek bana gurur verecektir.

What is the role of an SCA Chapter?

SCA Chapter volunteers embody the values of specialty coffee by working to deliver education, events, and research to their regional communities. The Chapter personifies the vision and mission of the SCA in all activities.
