These positions require a greater time commitment but are perfect for specialty coffee professionals who are open for leadership roles and would like to be more involved with the behind-the-scenes support of the event.
Learn the Skills to Become a WCC Certified Judge
The Specialty Coffee Association is excited to announce the launch of a new education program, designed for those looking to learn more about the World Coffee Championships and begin their journey towards becoming a World Coffee Championships (WCC) Certified Judge. The new WCC Judge Skills Program will launch this November 8-10, with a trial event hosted at Lucca Café in Curitiba, Brazil.

Announcing World of Coffee 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark!
World of Coffee Copenhagen will take place at Bella Center Copenhagen, June 27 to 29, 2024, and will feature the 2024 World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits and World Coffee Roasting Championships. This World of Coffee will run in addition to the SCA's annual World of Coffee trade shows in Dubai January 21 to 23, 2024 and the inaugural World of Coffee Busan, scheduled for May 1 to 4, 2024. This is the first time that the SCA has held three global World of Coffee trade shows in the same year.
Announcing the 2023 Taipei WCC Rules & Regulations
Today, the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) released updated Rules & Regulations for the 2023 World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits, and World Coffee Roasting Championships. These rules will be used for the first time at the Taipei World Coffee Championships, hosted at Taiwan International Coffee Show in Taipei, Taiwan, from November 17-20, 2023.

World of Coffee Busan will take place at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) May 1-4, 2024, and will feature the 2024 World Barista Championship. This inaugural World of Coffee in Asia will run in addition to the SCA's annual World of Coffee trade shows in Dubai, scheduled for January 21 to 23, 2024, and Europe in June 2024.
Beta Version of the Coffee Value Assessment Protocol and Forms Unveiled at Re:co Symposium
Earlier today, SCA CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos formally introduced the beta version of the SCA Coffee Value Assessment on the Re:co Symposium stage, a thought leadership event that takes place prior to the Specialty Coffee Expo in Portland, Oregon. Yannis also unveiled an Early Adopter program designed to help the SCA refine the system’s protocol and forms through community feedback before it moves through the SCA’s standards development procedures.
