The Coffee Value Assessment is Now Available on Two New Digital Platforms: TheBeanGeek and Quantify CVA

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is pleased to announce that the Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) is now available on two new digital platforms: TheBeanGeek, a free web-based tool for coffee professionals and enthusiasts, and Quantify CVA, an iOS and Android application offering advanced multi-evaluator data collection and analysis.

Since its launch in April 2023, the CVA has continued to grow in accessibility and adoption across the global coffee community. Grounded in extensive user-perception research within the specialty coffee sector, the CVA is reshaping how coffee quality is evaluated. These new digital platforms extend the CVA's structured approach to a broader range of users, empowering coffee professionals and enthusiasts to assess coffee quality and value with greater consistency in their daily practice.

Across both platforms, users benefit from guided assessments, automatic score calculation, and a personal library of cupping records that grows over time.

TheBeanGeek is dedicated to connecting coffee professionals and enthusiasts with the tools, resources, and knowledge to explore and improve coffee quality. Its implementation of the CVA is completely free to use, with no account required to begin an assessment. The platform supports all three CVA assessment forms, Affective, Descriptive, and Combined. Users can also create a free account to save and track their evaluation history.

"A healthy TheBeanGeek community is one where every review feels valuable, whether it's from a beginner discovering their first fruity pour-over or an expert with years of tasting behind them," said Peter Kulcsar, Founder of TheBeanGeek. "It's a space where roasters receive meaningful feedback, and coffee lovers feel supported as they explore and map their own coffee journey."

Users can access TheBeanGeek's CVA tool at thebeangeek.com/sca/coffee-value-assessment.

Quantify CVA is an iOS and Android application that has undergone a comprehensive update and rebrand, introducing support for eight languages to better serve the global coffee community. Available languages include English, Korean, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). The app features Conversion Mode, which transforms digital assessments into official SCA CVA PDF forms for compliance and sharing. It also supports real-time synchronization of multi-evaluator results. The app recently completed a large-scale testing phase involving more than 18,000 evaluation records across 1,100 active evaluators.

"Since the launch of the SCA's CVA for Cuppers, I have been deeply focused on integrating digital transformation into coffee evaluation," said Dongjun Oh of the Quantify CVA team. "We are committed to advancing the coffee industry by preserving the statistical integrity and conceptual consistency of the original CVA framework."

Quantify CVA is available for download on iOS and Android at linktr.ee/cva_app.

Coffee professionals, cuppers, and enthusiasts are encouraged to explore both platforms and integrate the CVA into their everyday coffee evaluation practice.
